I intended to start this blog months ago. Life took me by surprise and it did not happen. I guess better late than never. It feels like a small miracle though.
Turkey Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. It goes right along with the 4th of July for me. I like these two holidays the best because it is just about being together with family and friends, having fun and just living. It is also somewhat simple. Being thankful and enjoying what is around me is simple, easy and I like it ( It also does not require weeks of shopping, decorating and planning).
I slacked a little bit in the picture taking department though. I got so wrapped up enjoying my day that I only took two pictures. These two people should feel very special. My Dad carving the bird and my sweet little niece Allie.
Our day was great! I spent it with my family, my parents, my brothers and their families and my cousin Paige and her husband Dan. My mom is an amazing cook and I am pretty sure I could never live up to the standard she has set for Thanksgiving Dinner. Turkey with all the trimmings along with the best homemade pies you could imagine. A true feast!
After dinner, my brothers left and it was just my family and my parents. We enjoyed a board game with some pretty typical kid drama and a lot of laughs. I feel lucky and so Thankful for my family!
